runaway monster

it's built into the wall

the monster, in the dark

at least it was suppose to stay

as only a work of art.

i left the room empty

and you see

when i returned

there was a hole in the wall

where the monster used to be

if i had acted immediately

the thing might have been easily caught

but i stopped to think and see

and gave him the time he needed

to make it off the spot

or, in other words, no matter how you say, he got away

my mind could not divest itself

of the scene the monster left

i was amazed to see it,

the wall, monster bereft

so, now i hunt this monster.

he never left my neighborhood

but he is a sneaky prangster

that's always up to no dam good.f

oh well, i guess

there's nothing left

to do about he

being... my nemisis

i'll have to just accept it

he's something marvelous

but what about... the hole in my wall?
